Some days life has a way of saying Why did you Bother

OK the plan... get up get showered have a really long walk and in the process go into every Laptop sales place I can find... so after 4 hours I am BACK in the Exito 20 minutes from the flat. They have the laptop I intend to buy. I manage to attract a sales assistant.. I tell him the laptop I want and away he goes to check the stock, returning 5 minutes later with a young lady from the apple sales team who can speak some English and through a mass of English and Spanish it turns out the one on display is the ONLY one they have. BUT they do have 2 in another store a taxi ride away would I like a taxi... To be honest after 4 hours the only thing I really wanted was a laptop and a cold beer. After thinking about it for 5 more minutes I tell her I will just take the display one, since its inside a sealed plastic display case no one has been playing with it. So I go to the back of the shop where you pay while they get organised to pack it all up they scan the barcode swipe my card and I put in the pin number ONLY for the damn bank to refuse it because they have instigated a system to protect their card users by limiting any transaction in a day to 1 million pesos(250 pounds) or 6 uses. At this point I just shook my head made sure the transaction was cancelled took my card and walked out thinking why did I bother. I guess it was just not my day to buy a laptop. The fact the laptop I am using which I bought with the card when I came out still works is I guess all I really need. So there I was going out to spend a load of money and I came back without spending a peso !! How often can you say that. So now I have 3 choices.. Take the money out in cash to buy it, or see if I can upgrade the memory on this del boy compaq laptop or get hold of (By hook or by crook / more likely the latter)a copy of Windows XP. No doubt I will mention this again in the near future.

This evening I was out with some colleagues to what I thought was going to be an Indian Restaurant but turned out to be Korean...The food was amazing hot, spicy and interesting - you cook it yourself on the table in front of you on a grill plate its one of the few restaurants where the staff keep bringing you different dishes but dont actually cook it for you. Was a very interesting system but also very very filling. After eating our way through a load of beef pork and side dishes of marinated vegetables the table was cleared and a huge turean of vegetable soup was brought out ... In Korea apparantly the soup is served after the meats. But by this stage I was beginning to think I had put back on the 6 inches I had lost around my waist... The restaurant was small very very busy with Koreans (always a good sign if the local Korean population want to eat in their own restaurant)and very friendly. Good Food, Good Company make for a Good Evening.
