Exam Updates.

Grade 6 Although the 150 pupils in Grade 6 had a variety of results the distribution curve was fairly realistic in that I had a handful of kids who failed the exam and a handful who achieved a top grade and an even spread in the middle. It was fairly satisfying to see that even those who had failed when their grades were added to the course work they managed to scrape through the term report.
Having said that some kids will still be annoyed at not getting a grade of 6 or 7 because their parents wont be happy. Maybe it will encourage them to try harder next term.

Grade 8 I am currently marking, and have marked 2 groups so far, the results are varied, a lot of the kids are getting high grades but I am also getting a few who have achieved a level of mediocrity that has baffled me since I actually talked them through everything they needed for this exam, since it was their first technology exam. I will be interested to see how some of the other groups do especially the class I have mentioned in previous posts with a group who do nothing, and when I was going over the things they needed to know for the exam were far happier listening to music... I will look forward to marking their papers first thing tomorrow.

I haven't decided whether to reset my alarm or live with it - I have a feeling I will let it go off and then just grab another hours sleep tomorrow before getting up (I still have my second alarm set to the normal time JUST in CASE.

Had another interesting answer on one of Dianas Grade 5 exams - What tool is used for drilling holes in wood... answer ... A BROOMSTICK. Me thinks the boy doth read to much Harry Potter!!!!. (Though I will be checking for jagged scars next time I pass through her class.

Exams are now over and its back to some sort of normality if you can call a wednesday short periods and meetings normal of course. Till tomorrow....Chao
