Its Friday It was House Sports Day and it rained.

Well I am now officially on holiday for a whole week.

Today was the house sports day I was in charge of the tug of war... PLEASE a piece of advice to all supporting staff. If you ever have to do the Tug of War - remember to get the central marker into the middle before the start BUT DO NOT STAND ON IT!!! Because as soon as the little darlings (Grade 8 all 14 year olds full of adrenalin and hormones, 10 per team) pull before you say go - YOU WILL GO AIRBORN !! I did a very effective back somersault in mid air.. something that many a circus acrobat would have been proud to perform.
I have never done that before and its an experience I would like to avoid again. Though the girls were all rushing over asking if I was OK which was rather nice...

The plan was for a new "year group" every 45 minutes but unfortunately 45 minutes into the day it rained..and RAINED, so that was all I saw of Tug of War the rest of the day was a wash out.

I also managed to cut my finger on the metal clip of the folder handed to me for scoring - it was razor sharp and took pretty much the top of my thumb off with ease, fortunately I was standing right next to the nurses medical station so I had 2 lovely young nurses desperately trying to stop my thumb bleeding took them 15 minutes as no matter what they did as soon as they stopped I started bleeding again .. I was quite amused they seemed kind of confused must be the alltitude thinning my blood too. At least no one could say I was a miserable bleeder with the smile on my face.

Other than that nothing really exciting happened and when 3:30 bell rang I happily headed for the bus and a weeks relaxation away from work. Most of the teachers I talked to were saying how glad they were of the holiday and the chance to recover, where as I could happily have kept working as it helps fill in the day and although I am tired at the end of a day , I dont feel down or depressed about the job.

I hope to get out and about next week but its obviously something I need to plan, to make sure its feasable and successful. There are a few things I want to do and the only way to get them done is to go do them. Sounds so easy more updates as the week goes on.
