Bogota Transport

Bogota has every style and type of modern car truck and van you could imagine but on my walk to the Hacienda shopping centre then down to the Unicentro shopping centre today I passed some classics.

The Train is basically there for tourists I Haven't found the station yet but when I do I might try to get a trip on it as its many many years since I was last on a steam train.
Steam trains are not the only "old" transport about. The 1950's style american cars can still be found on the streets of Bogota as seen here.

And of course in amongst all this traffic noise and pollution you will hear the clip clop of the horse and cart.

The Hacienda shopping centre is in an area called Usaquen which as I wandered through was very tranquil and peaceful, Many years ago Usaquen used to be a small village on the outskirts of Bogota but has now been completely enveloped, but still retains its individual style.

The weather looks idylic and it was in the morning but as I headed home less than 10 minutes from the flat the heavens opened, it happened so fast, one moment it was blue skys the next it was equivalent of a tropical storm with rain falling so hard I was soaked through in seconds. So I kept going as people dashed for cover the mad scotsman was seen walking down the road totally soaked with a huge smile on his face, the rain was wet but it wasn't icy cold as I would get in Scotland in fact it was actually refreshing. Though I doubt the locals thought so.
