What a Bargain !

Its Saturday and I took my washing in on the way up to the PANAMERICANA store as I wanted to get some in ear headphones as one of my pet hates is sitting on a Bus,Plane or Train and listening to someone elses choice of music in that horrible tinny way you get when the other person is oblivious to how LOUD their music is.

So I invested in some in ear ones which are far better for the sound quality, and that they actually stay in my ears and dont fall out.. I must have really weird ears...Must be a heriditary thing so I'll blame my mum - Only joking mum.

Anyway I then decided since I was out I should go to the Palatino shopping centre as it has the most user friendly bank cash machine for paying bills and I had my monthly gas bill to pay, all £6 of it... But if I was going to go there I might as well go via the Exito its a store I like its kind of like TESCO in UK in that they stock everything. As I approached it I thought hello its kind of busier than normal (Thats when your mind drifts back to the free paper that arrives every so often and you remember seeing that today is a special sale day)Oh well I was there now anyway so I literally fought my way in through the crowds (At least half of Bogota was here), and sure enough loads of Sale items .. I had already decided having got this far I was going to buy a Shirt, I like the shirts here and for work they are fine, though I intend to buy some new quality clothing for return to UK next year.

So off I went in search of my shirt and found one so I picked up a shirt, then another, then a pair of casual shoes, 2 pairs of trousers, another shirt and 2 Italian made ties... OK OK I know bit of overkill but when you consider that the total cost of my purchase was equivalent to £25 UK I would have doubled that purchase if I had enough hands to carry it.

Definitly a bargain though of course I need to get the leg length shortened so my little laundry got their second visit of the day so they can adjust the lengths.(All ready for Monday Evening). So you could say today was a worthwhile day out. Certainly the clothing isn't top quality but for working in its ideal. Must keep an eye out for their next sale.

On arriving at the Palatino shopping centre I paid my bill and checked my balance, I have been paid and its pretty much what I expected I think, hard to tell when your dealing in MILLIONS !!! of Pesos, confirmation of the exact amount will be when I get my pay slip on Monday.
I also stopped and had a coffee and an iced cinnamon bun at the small Juan Valdez Cafe in the centre.

I have to smile sometimes as I sipped my coffee and generally relaxed the female, in centre, security guard walked towards me with a purpose, as I looked up she smiled I said Good Afternoon in my best Spanish she responded and carried on walking past, however as I finished my coffee I noticed she was still in the area, obviously a gringo - though I tend to think thats an American term so I might have to ask Diana what a non American is - having coffee on his own is a bit of a novelty. Either that or I had scored - but on reflection she has a bigger gun than me so maybe its best not to pursue that line of thought on the grounds of safety. (Women in uniform are quite cute though - wonder if she had any handcuffs - wink wink)

Tomorrow I have been invited out for dinner and a curry with some friends of Valeries, I will update on the curry tomorrow (and now Dan who is Dianas boyfriend is forgetting all about Man Cities 3-1 over Newcastle this morning and wishing he was having Curry tomorrow too)... Trust me I'll tell him all about every bite.. I like seeing a grown man cry.

Hasta Manyana Chicas y Chicos
