Music with Lunch

Today the Lunch area was decked out in a Mexican theme with Mexican food and of all things Mexican a Mariachi Band in full regalia. There is something quite interesting about eating your dinner to the sound of guitars and trumpets. The beat and sound of the music is fast and furious and I really enjoyed listening to something that I hadn't really had the chance to hear before.
My only knowledge of Mariachi was through the 1993 film El Mariachi rated as one of the greatest low budget films ever made, but it didn't have any similarity to the music and fortunately the music wasn't interupted with the sound of gunfire.

The rest of the day went well until I got home and found my phone has been cut off this is something that seems to happen a lot in Bogota as far as I can find out. I have asked the school by email to find out why as the bill was paid, nothing I can really do until they sort it out, it does mean I have no contact with home just now and I find that hard not because we talk on the phone a lot but it is re-assuring to know the option is there to not have that option has made me feel very isolated and quite stressed tonight. Its frustrating when you have no control over what is happening and thats probably the biggest gripe of all.
