What a lazy day, just as well really since its rained all day. That could be a result of the Hurrican Dean thats heading for the Mexican peninsula its now rated at 5 which means major destruction to land when it hits. Thats not to say we are anywhere near to it (looks near on the map of course) but is actually no threat at all to Colombia. But makes you more aware of the power of nature when you are a few thousand miles closer to it than UK.
Didnt do a great deal today prepared some powerpoint presentations to teach basic Design and Graphic skills (Assuming I can get access to a Multimedia projector.. I am still promised there is one on order for me but I aint holding my breath. (Not that I could anyway still feel out of breath after any major exertion - damn I must be getting old !) One of the other things I have noticed since being here is that there is a definite Oily taste to the air, not really surprising when you see the fumes pumped out by some of the old buses that race up and down the roads.
Purchases for the day a bunch of bananas approx 12 for a cost of £1. Also tried to buy a Hair and Beard Trimmer from the local electrical store, the one I wanted was the only one left and in a glass case sealed with a security padlock, after 15 minutes of the staff trying every key possible to open the padlock and failing I eventually stopped the assistant as she came out with a Screwdriver and a Hammer and prepared to try to smash the lock, from experience I could see the whole glass cabinet exploding in a shower of glass splinters so I suggested I might come back tomorrow. Meanwhile my beard is beginning to feel a bit like CatWeazles if you are old enough to remember the show. Will need to get some thing soon before I start to take on the genial wizard look of Dumbledore.
