Shopping day.

Today was a day for doing some shopping and exploring of the neighbourhood, I had heard from some of the local teachers there was a Mall nearby (though wasn't sure of their definition of nearby) and also a superstore so I set off to have a look.

The first thing you notice is that some of the main roads are set aside from Car Traffic and allow, cyclists, roller bladers even walkers to wander around the city without the constant stream of traffic. From the numbers I saw taking part its obviously a very popular event. On the video you can see a crowd of cyclists crossing the main 140 road which runs straight for about 4 miles.


The second video was taken on Friday and shows the view of the school from the staffroom looking out over the pre school area. The school is actually well organised but could do with some extra classrooms as a lot of teachers mov e for every lesson, one bonus for diana and I is we have 2 rooms and there are 2 of us so we just swap between us if need be... Up to now all my classes are in the graphics room as its easier until we get the materials sorted out.

Overall I had a nice walk and bought a small Table Lamp in the local flee market. It was an interesting discussion but the girl selling them was willing to listen to my faltering spanish and be as helpful as possible to make a sale. I was happy to buy one not just because I needed one but also because she was a rather pretty young lady. (Sorry but I am only human after all or should that be male.)
