This was a hard day. Its day 5 of the cycle and thats 3 grade 6 classes and a Grade 8 class so it is tiring controlling groups of 27 and 28 kids and to top it all off i also picked up cover on the last period of a friday - Now cover most days is ok most periods are ok but last period on friday is as bad as it gets. If I did a comparison to food similar to yesterday I would suggest todays teaching was the equivalent to a McDonalds... One bite and its gone and you wonder why you bothered.
I am now back in the flat and sitting here feeling shattered far too many early mornings this week so looking forward to alonger lie tomorrow though have that nagging feeling I will wake at 5 and that will be it...
On a seperate note I sat and watched a film tonight called The Last King of Scotland, not a historical drama as might be expected but the rise of Idi Amin in Uganda and of the Scottish doctor who unwittingly becomes his private physician and confidante. The title refers to the fact that Idi Amin had given himself the title The Last King of Scotland amongst many other titles.
I would highly recommend this film not only for its now historical significance but that it is also a good story and on an personal level I felt I could understand what the Scottish Doctor felt and his reasons for going.
