Saturday and the sun shone

I had a bill to pay, normally bills are paid at the cash point, but the internet broadband bill can only be paid in the bank. I set off to the Bank within the Palatino shopping centre, its a small bank but one I feel comfortable in it, mainly because as you walk through the door the cashiers face you and you can't get lost. Though their are two queuing areas one seems to be an express lane not that it makes any difference of course. I have quickly come to realize that to get anything done FAST in Colombia is nearly impossible. This was the second time I had to pay the internet bill so I thought I had it all worked out, I knew what to say and what to expect and it all ran so well, until the last question. Tha teller asked for my ID number but he said it so fast I didnt catch it, so instead I guessed what he was asking and got it totally wrong.. he smiled and in almost perfect english said "Your Id Number" well if he had said that in the first damn place I would have known. Needless to say we both left smiling transaction complete. From there it was round to my favourite laundrette to drop off my washing and a couple of pairs of trousers I needed shortened and even here I managed to enter into a little discussion even understanding that the washing would be ready on tuesday but the alterations not till wednesday. So it was a somewhat successful day. A quick visit to the Exito resulted in the purchase of a small plastic table as I felt I needed something to put all my junk on so now I have a relatively clean dining table but an incredibly messy small plastic table.
