Sunday... Its Raining

I was going to go out for a walk today - when you consider in UK I wouldn't walk the length of my shadow unless I had to. I actually enjoy doing it here, but then it is usually warmish, but not too hot - just nice for walking. I can assure you today it is NOT ! Its raining and it looks like its on for the day no breaks in the cloud anywhere around. Just as well I don't really need to go out I have enough to survive with tonight (sounds like being at the north pole lol) and will do a little more shopping tomorrow after school on the way home, I need to pick up my washing anyway so will try to kill 2 birds with one stone.

Have got all the marking in and done - though I will need to proof read it... since I have some time tomorrow (This might be wishful thinking) I should manage to get most of it done then, but of course I also have that meeting at the end of the evening so can see it being a late night.

I have prepared 6 basic grade remarks, rated "Excellent, Good, Average/Improving, Average, Marginal Pass and Failing. When I did some basic statistical analysis of the results I had given as grades, it is a standard Bell shaped curve slightly skewed on the positive side. This is pretty much what I would have expected I have only 2 students graded as "Excellent" some on "Good" and "Average/Improving", and equal number on "Average" a few on "Marginal Pass", and only 3 in "Failing", out of the 250 odd students I am responsible for.

For the first project area and grading period this has been quite useful as it meets the general theory of class dispersion of pupil ability. (I just made that up by the way - I expect to see it quoted and referenced somewhere though just need to find out who said it first..and if it is ME !! I will sue the backside off anyone plagiarizing me if proper cites are not placed).

Ok you can tell its a quiet day ... back to playing some online chess. chao amigos
