Meetings are not my idea of a good afternoon

Wednesday, Short periods and with my schedule only 2 classes today. Things looked good until the boss dropped by and said sorry need you to cover a class its a Year 5 class (1st year) and its spanish ! Thankfully the teacher had left out a passage for the kids to read and then to answer questions on. The 22 little angels ! were angels and worked away quietly right up to 5 minutes from the bell. My only task was to collect in their work on the greek wars.
Sadly the day was diminished by the what has become a wednesday afternoon of boredom and confusion. There seems to be some over riding desire to try to tell everyone things that they think you want to know when a lot of the time it would be far easier to email it and let the individuals read it. Instead we all sit there and listen to the comments in spanish and then in an english translation that doesn't always work, and the quality of the Powerpoint presentations is atrocious they really should have some lessons on how to write a good power point! The good news..there isnt any as the management have organised Wednesday meetings right up to Christmas. One long term teacher stopped to comment on the fact the meetings were not held on the top floor but on the ground floor purely to stop people leaping out of the windows and he is right on the ball!! I'd be one of the first.
In the flat I haven't really had HOT water its been at best luke warm and morning showers in Luke Warm water haven't been much fun. But after sneaking away from the 2nd part of the meeting (It was an executive decision - hot water or an hour of trying not to fall asleep - pretty much a no brainer) The administration took the time to get hold of a maintenance guy who came back to the flat with me, where he spent 40 minutes or so tweaking the heater system (Now I had already tried and failed) Where I had failed he did succeed the water is now warm, its not HOT by any means but it is a lot better than it was. Both for washing dishes and for showering (well so I hope when I get in the shower tomorrow morning) otherwise I'll be back into the admin office tomorrow asking for a new heater system (Being Colombia it'll probably take 9 months to arrive, just in time for me to leave) Oh well least its better than it was.
Time for bed said Zebedee....Boooooinng !!!
