The Oooops what happened to Friday

Yes you noticed if you looked, that somewhere along yesterday I forgot to update the blog. It wasnt Colombian Broadband it was me I got home and was so tired from this cold which I feel I am actually starting to get over though this morning I am still a bit snuffly that I had a beer and an early night. My day yesterday with the grade 8 kids was really good even though I wanted to make a point about the standard of their hand ins... I didnt want it to be a slap more a redirection so I set up a powerpoint slide of words each slide had one word.. WHY, HAVE, I, BEEN, WASTING, MY, TIME etc etc but instead of me ranting and raving I did it as a mime with the class saying the words.... It was hilariously funny (OK I am biased), the kids enjoyed it I enjoyed it and I did get the point across. Immediately after the mime I did a directed lesson as a reminder of 2 point and how to render. Which it was nice to see most kids attempted to a reasonable and good standard. Since it was a directed lesson the work had been timed to last the exact length I had of the lesson so everything could be completed within the time allowed. This has highlighted those who are either not working hard enough or fast enough or more importantly has highlighted through the work in class those who might struggle through confidence or ability, something that is hidden within the group work stage. Only 3 of my 4 Grade classes got the lesson as one class were out due to a break in at the school the previous night where some of the Kids lockers had been damaged. This was the first "crime" I have heard of here which in itself is quite amazing. I am sure there is crime just I havent seen it or heard about it. In UK you seem to be more aware of it usually because its attached to vandalism or injury.

This morning I have to go back down to Unicentro to get the other memory chip for the Del Boy Laptop, pick up some trousers from the dry cleaners, pay a bill at the bank, and stop in at a few other shops for some odds and ends.

So the Saturday Update will be later once I have installed the memory assuming its in.

Chao hasta luago
