The only thing to say about today was it was over quick and the weekend is here. I had been given the contact for a good optician which is close to the school. I really need some new glasses the ones I bought 2 years ago.. and doesn't seem that long ago, are still the correct prescription but the glasses were quite modern so had narrow lenses and of course because I use what is called Varifocal in UK (Progressives in Colombia) it isn't now as good as it had been when I got them, yeah I know I'm getting older just hate to admit it. My older pair which are not varifocal but are Transitions (Photochromic changing with light levels)are much better for distance but useless for closeup but ok in the sun. I also have a lightweight pair that act as distance and close up but are useless in the sun. So the ideal option is a fairly large surface area similar in styling to modern sun glasses but with progressive lenses and transitions so they act as sun glasses (Though why you may think I want Sunglasses when all I have done is moan about the weather the last few days might seem a bit loopy)
However having been given the address I decided I would walk there tomorrow its still about an hours walk away but since I do that anyways on Saturday I figured I wouldn't have a problem. However out of the blue tonight Carlos, One of the teachers husbands I go into work with called me tonight and has offered to take me in the car and act as an interpretor needless to say that will speed things up a lot and its really nice that he is happy to take the time to help me.
My only problem is I can't find the prescription the school did for me just before Xmas but then again I can get the eyetest done here (Its Ten Thousand of course.. thats about £2.50 to you and I) and it comes off the cost of the glasses.
My choices are to see if they can provide decent sized frames OR if they can use the frames I have and just add a new prescription lenses to them. Either way updates tomorrow on my return.
Depending on the price I might get both options done a new pair and new lenses.
So thats my day and evening and now its time for bed said zebedee... More tomorrow when I get back...
chao amigos.
