One piece of what I am looking at as good news is that the School in Jordan have asked for a second interview. I am assuming (God I hate assuming anything .. To Assume broken down as to "make an ASS out of U and ME" )that if they had NO interest I wouldn't have heard anything more from them. The fact they are willing to talk to me again so soon suggests to me they are looking for maybe one or two more key comments before making their decision. No matter it has given me a sense of confidence and I am looking forward to whichever day they arrange, albeit it will be another 5am start.
I can honestly say I would love to get this job, when I asked in the initial interview what the budget was for the department I was told there was no budget, for a moment I felt disheartened until my interviewer calmy told me that if appointed whatever I told them I needed they would provide, money was not an issue.
All classrooms are fully IT organised and the department consists of 2 Workshops / Classrooms and 3 IT suites. So finger crossed.
In the mean time tomorrow I have lots of Grade 8 classes which makes for a good day at work - they will all be out and about measuring and taking sketches etc of the buildings they are supposed to be building, which makes for easy teaching since they are doing all the work. I just have to hope its a dry day.
The picture is one of my grade girls, Sylvana who was out measuring a building, improvisation was the name of the game and she had measured the length of her arm from fingertip to shoulder and was using that as a rough guide to size. I had to smile since if she had asked the physics department they would have given her a metre wheel which would have been much easier. However since part of the remit is critical thinking and problem solving I certainly wasn't going to put down her efforts.
