Lazy Days

I had a really lazy day today, short walk and really didnt do anything exciting unless you call having a coffee and a chocolate chip cookie the size of a dinner plate exciting... Was good though.

That aside I did some housekeeping and generally relaxed.

It seems strange but my mind has already started turning to what to do next. Mainly brought on by the fact this is the Recruiting time for International Schools.

Originally my plan was to do 1 year here in Colombia and then try to get a job in Dubai at a specific school that I have been targetting since last year. The theory being if I didn't get it, and I have to be realistic these posts particularly in Dubai are very competative, I would return to UK and look for work locally.

But after thinking about it, it seems silly not to look at applying for other posts so with that in mind I have applied to 2 other schools in the same general area. One in Cairo and one in Jordan. That of course guarantees nothing but it does make me feel I have some control over my future or I am at least making an effort.

In many ways when I come to leave I will be quite sad, Colombia is definitly a place that is heavily underated mainly because of its world wide media bad rep... But I have a feeling it will become one of the gems of the future both for its weather and its facilities - well assuming they fix the roads of course.

Todays photo shows window cleaning Colombian style.. I watched these 3 guys throw various window cleaning tools back and forth between them while thinking all the time if they drop it... some poor soul is gonna be a soul !!!
