Finally Cracked...

I have cracked, after sitting through yet another SLOW DEATH by poor powerpoint I have HAD to write to the Head Master and say I will happily run courses on HOW TO USE powerpoint before the staff are all destroyed by over used visual effects, stupid sound effects (How annoying is that damn typewriter sound with every letter appearing on the screen) and text that makes you wish you had opera glasses. The only other option is to start taking RUM in to add to my coffee during meetings, or I will end up slitting my wrists. Small titles, Boxes full of information in a small font, Black text on a dark purple background.. I mean most of it is common bloody sense .. though no one apart from a 12 year old seems to understand that.

RANT of the day over with.

Yesterday I mentioned I had had my grade 6 classes sanding down the work tables to get rid of the graffiti. I have 5 grade 6 classes and I had seen 3 of them BUT I couldn't have the last 2 classes not sand or it would have been unfair. SO today my 4th / grade 6 class did the same thing the only problem was the first 3 classes had done such a good job there wasn't any graffiti for this class to sand away... so (And this is a secret that must not get out) to make sure the pupils had something to remove I had to add graffiti to all my tables .. yes I went round every table and added 3 pieces of Graffiti to each table to ensure there was something for the kids to remove, and whats worse is for the last class I see tomorrow I will have to do it all again. I feel a bit guilty... a sort of DO AS I SAY not as I do.....

But I am not daft... I didn't add it in the same place as the others I moved it so by the time they have finished, all the tables will have been rubbed down across the complete top surface. Then a quick coat of sealant / varnish and I will have nice smart tables for next week. Cunning Huh !!!

Today they had a Mass for the teacher that died a few weeks ago, as a mentor I had to attend with my mentor class. I am not sure what I was expecting but the Mass that was held was actually a really nice experience with haunting but not overtly religious music (Though since they were singing in Spanish I might be totally wrong)

Christmas has arrived here .. I looked out the window tonight and 5 of the flats opposite have sparkly Christmas Trees up, and the front of the building is decorated with lights and light up reindeer... Now considering its still just the 21st of November it feels a bit on the early side, though I expect to see Father Christmas walking up the street at the weekend now.

Have had to write yet again to administration since I haven't had a letter yet about the contract .. seriously how anything works or gets done in this country amazes me when you run into such deep lethargy over some of the simplist things. More Updates tomorrow.
