Frustration !

Why is it you can have a great day up until the last class of the day and they ruin your whole feeling of satisfaction and happiness.

This was not through badness but more lack of effort. I have had one 8th Grade class from the start that havent been as good as the other classes, there are some really good kids in it but there is also a core of what I guess you would call spoiled brats, rich and annoying in that they seem to want to do it their way or not at all and for all my efforts at being nice and being calm I can feel the storm clouds gathering and there are going to be a few words said at the end of the card box project when I highlight how their effort and attitude has gained them very poor marks.

They haven't registered yet that with every project we do I have an area at the end called "Attitudes to Technology" where I can comment and grade them on their "effort, team work, interaction with the subject and over all desire to see the project through" This Grade is a either 1, 2 or 3, 4 or 5, 6 or 7 - 1 being showed little or no interest or interaction. and since their grades are averaged over "Investigation, Design, Planning, Manufacture, Evaluation and the Attitudes to Technology" some will find a lower grade than they expect. Ah well I guess when they get poor results they might realize things need to change. I feel personally upset though even though I know I shouldn't I wonder why that is... answers on a postcard to Confused Technical Teacher c/o Colombia
