Over the last few lessons I have been giving the kids some introductory skills in Graphics as a lead in towards the first project. The basic skills level is pretty good. And the kids are certainly getting used to me, as I am to them though there are still far to many Alejandras and Juan Pablos about for my class lists to make much sense.
The other day I put on a fresh new shirt a lemon coloured one, and of course what should be for dinner that day - A very watery Spaghetti Bolognase, needless to say the shirt is in the washing bag. Dropped some more washing off recently at the Launderette but the lady I saw last time wasn't about instead a very pretty young lady started the usual "spanish inquisition" but this time when I did my "I'm sorry do you speak english" she said "Yes" and I found out her name is Diana and she is the owners daughter - needless to say my washing is now in safe hands.
This morning I got the Bus in as usual on a Tue & Thu, the driver was a new one though and this guy wasn't taking any prisoners... It was like riding a roller coaster this bus stopped for nothing, or no one, Pot Holes, other traffic nothing phased this driver from his task of getting us to school on time ... and he succeeded with a full 30 seconds to spare - oh well better luck on the next bus run.
Finally decided to upset the English Department a bit for no other reason than I want to see their faces in the staffroom. With my year 8 kids today I decided to teach them one new scottish word every day... todays word was BRAW, had to smile when I got them all to say it at the same time - complete with the rolling "r", my plan is to have them saying "Its a Braw Bricht Moonlicht nicht the nicht" before Christmas...evil I know, but I definitly feel its about time the Scots Language was international in Colombia maybe even Rabbie Burns on the approved book list. Ode to a mouse must be worth a laugh or two from the english teachers.
More of the Scottish Invasion in the coming weeks.
